Many new boaters feel that because they have a new 350lb. electric winch on the bow that there will never be a problem. Well have bad news for you. As you try to free the anchor you may blow the circuit breaker.
The best way is to carry one of big Red Tuna balls you see on large boats with a short 1/2 inch nylon line and a snap clip attached. When you have a stuck anchor you merely attach the snap and throw the ball over the side. point the boat at a 45 degree angle and apply power. You should see the ball go under. But soon the ball comes to the surface. WALA! you anchor will rise to the surface. And you then retrieve the anchor just under the ball. Nice ha?[fish/_private/boards_aftr.htm]
