Friday the 9th, the Lamar Benner group from East Greenville, PA made their first trip to Stellwagen. Capt. Al's deep-water spot produced a good mix of medium and a few 20# cod on Jigs and teasers. After the tide change, the shoal water really turned-on. The group bailed scrod, mediums and pollock in 106 feet of water. Lamar's commented, "This place is a goldmine!" As usual, a Nor'easter hit on the weekend, warranting cancellations on Saturday. The ride out on Sunday with the Bob Steinman, Steve Lally, and Dominic Bulone "Make-up' charter from Farmingdale, Brooklyn, and Amityville Hbr., NY, wasn't pretty to say the least. The shoals turned on early. The deep-water spots didn't produce like last week. However the wind let go, so we headed south the the "Valley". Dominic and Peter Dunn went went to work, conducting a clinic, using Tenn. Shad teasers, on how to jig cod and pollock. High-hook, Pete Dunn's 20# cod was beat out by Bob Steinman's 30# wolffish. Looks like Fish Unlimited Taxidermy will be busy processing another "Mother-in-law" fish. We have a few openings for fill-ins on "Make-up" charters in April-June. http://www.spav.com/progc/bfast/
