I can't stand the smell. Even if I use gloves, the smell still stays. I use chicken livers, soaked overnight in minced garlic. There's something about garlic that catfish go NUTS for, and it is so gourmet-ish and aromatic! nothing like garlic on a hot day! LOL. But no kidding, use REAL chicken livers from the grocery store, not those packaged things in the tackle section of WalMart. Those are WAY too tough. I've tried beef livers, chicken hearts, and just about every other "giblet" meat I could think of - including raw bacon - to no avail. Chicken livers are THE way to go.
