Plastic Bait Fishing for Bass
We enjoy using Mister Twisters for these fish with preferably a chartreuse or black jig head and a black jig however, bass will go after anything that wriggles and shines in there area. If you plan to fish for smaller bass (less than 12 inch) we suggest a trailer hook. A plastic worm, salamander, newt, grub, etc. Work extremely well also. The majority of bass fishermen choose plastic worms as their favorite bait for bass. We suggest you use Berkley Power Bait because of its proven quality of flavour, scent, life-like action, and its texture, which makes it feel like the real thing to a bass. Plastic worms are best for using in warm water and are very versatile lures because if hooked on right they can be cast through dense weed and other water plants without snagging. This is called "Texas Rigging" (see fig.1). When rigged this way, the bass' bite will push out the hook's point enabling it to catch the bass.
