Fish Identification
Muskie

Olive to gray or black on upper portion, sides lighter with dark spots or bars. 1/2 of cheeks lightly scaled, lower half is without scales. 40"+ is a good fish.
Northern Pike

Usually bluish-green to gray on back with irregular rows of light yellow, white, or gold spots on sides. (color may vary). The cheek is fully scaled. Fish weighing 10lb plus are fairly common in larger lakes and rivers.
Smallmouth Bass

Golden green sides and back with faint, wavy olive blotches along the sides, 5 olive-green bars radiate back from the red eye and 1 radiates forward. Spiny and soft portions of dorsal fin broadly connected. Fish over 3 - 4 lbs. are trophy sized.

Largemouth Bass

Body green-shaded with a broad continuos dark stripe along each side. Belly white to yellowish. Dorsal fin completely separated between spiny and soft portion and lower jaw extends past the gold colored eye.
Walleye

Brass olive buff on its top, white below, large, white glossy eyes and sharp teeth. No distinct bars or mottlings on sides, but wide, faded, vertical lines (similar to its cousin the perch). Caudal fin has white tip on lower lobe.
