How To Choose Your Muskie Spinners

Any Mepps Musky Killer or larger, or any other good sized bucktail, are quite effective for muskie. Spinner blades, on any spinner, create a vibration in the water, which is picked up by the fish's lateral line. The spinner also attracts fish with it's flash. Spinners should be size 5 and up, hair should also be in these size ranges. Sometimes tandem hair can be quite effective and makes the lure look as it is a small mammal. Most colours will work well, but lately we have found that a red or black tail has produced a good amount of fish.
