Attraction Methods For Walleye in Dark or Muddy Water

Some people have found that walleye tend to stay away from clearer water due to the light intensity that can easily penetrate even the deepest parts in some walleye schooling areas. We have also learned that many walleye can be found in muddy waters in lakes or on their own. In this case walleye's strike zones will decrease so you should use brighter and louder lures to attract their attention. It is quite easy to find crankbaits that contain rattles for most of them do today. We much prefer these to the non-rattling kinds. If you are using soft baits, it is also easy to ask your local fishing dealer for rattles, which can be inserted directly into a soft plastic's body making it invisible to the fish. You should insert these rattles into the head or upper part of the body so as to not effect the plastic's action. Fishing scent can also further entice a fish strike. Berkley Power Bait makes fish scents for many different species of fish. Just select the walleye and apply it to the bait that you are to be using. It will tell you on the bottle how often you should re-apply it.
