Fishing for Striped Bass on the Tuna Hunter
The Tuna Hunter departs from the Cape Ann Marina at 7:00 AM and returns at 3:00 PM. We usually start the day off with live bait fishing in the scenic Gloucester harbor. Live bait fishing for mackerel is lots of fun and one never knows what will eat a live mackerel. One one bass trip Tuna Hunter caught a 400-lb giant tuna while fishing for bass on a live mackerel.
Tuna Hunter fishes along the Cape Ann shoreline and many small islands. We usually anchor off the islands and cast bait into the shore rocks using light Penn reels and Fenwick and St. Croix rods.
We are lucky fishing out of Gloucester Harbor because we can always find calm water to bass fish if need be. Tuna Hunter supplies all of the tackle and bait. Experience is not needed on the Tuna Hunter, our experienced mates will teach you to cast like a pro and will clean all of your catch.
